ABOUT forgotten giants
Forgotten Giants – a literary project exploring overlooked historical figures and cultural narratives – sought a book cover that would resonate across audiences and markets.
The Challenge
The challenge was to translate a deeply rooted, research-driven story into a visual identity that felt timeless, contemporary, and globally relevant. This required a balance between cultural depth and global appeal – capturing the spirit of forgotten histories while ensuring accessibility to an international readership - and symbolic design, creating a visual anchor that reflects both the book’s emotional gravitas and its intellectual sophistication. Ultimately, the goal was to craft an identity that could honor the narrative’s complexity while resonating with a modern, diverse audience.
Our approach
Visual Research & Concept Development
We explored iconography, typography, and textures inspired by archival imagery and modern editorial design to build a visual bridge between past and present.
Design Execution
The final cover combines minimalist composition with layered detailing – inviting readers into the narrative while maintaining a refined, collectible aesthetic suited for both print and digital formats.
Strategic Positioning
The design reinforces Forgotten Giants’ positioning as a global cultural platform – elevating the book from publication to artifact, appealing to international publishers, curators, and audiences engaged in history, art, and social dialogue.
THE IMPACT
The final cover became more than a visual introduction - it defined the visual identity of the Forgotten Giants project and set the foundation for its future growth. It delivered a market-ready design adaptable across international publishing and promotional platforms, while establishing a symbolic framework that connected diverse audiences through a universal visual language. Beyond a single title, the design laid the groundwork for the project’s evolution into a broader cross-cultural initiative with lasting impact.
Designing for Legacy
By merging cultural research, design precision, and global perspective, Plus972 helped Forgotten Giants articulate a story of rediscovery - not only through words, but through enduring visual form.
